We are looking for a hands-on, results driven Marketing and Communications Coordinator that will support our growing portfolio of the McDougall Energy Group of Companies in Southern Ontario.  This role will be the primary support to Dowler Karn, a division of McDougall Energy Inc. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Creating recommendations for local marketing and promotional activities
  • Ensuring brand integrity in all areas of our business and business lines
  • Working cross-functionally to support brand planning, marketing campaigns and activities, sales materials, and timeline management to achieve strategic priorities and objectives
  • Supporting the management of global brand relationships and standards (Esso, Mobil, Shell, etc.)
  • Interface with outside parties such as agencies, vendors, print suppliers, etc. in the support of briefing, proofing, producing, and executing campaign and promotional material
  • Analyzing, approving and executing events, tradeshows and community investments activities inclusive of managing a calendar of marketing activities for Dowler Karn in the local market
  • Supporting the overall digital marketing strategy, monitoring and execution, including content of the Company’s digital platforms, including intranet, website(s), and social media channels. This includes supporting the creation, design, management and reporting for Dowler-Karn social media channels
  • Managing a social media calendar, content, and responses where applicable
  • Assisting in the response to customer enquiries and directing to appropriate internal stakeholders
  • Supporting in managing marketing budgets and providing regular reporting to key stakeholders
  • Analyzing data to monitor and optimize campaign effectiveness
  • Contributing to the development of competitor and customer insights analysis



The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in progressive marketing, communications, brand management
  • Post-secondary University Degree or College Diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
  • Proactive team player with a positive attitude and commitment to delivering a superior customer experience
  • Strong project management and time management skills to meet deadlines and frequently changing priorities
  • Experience working with a brand(s) across multiple market segments
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Superior organizational, project management, and time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines and frequently changing priorities
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate with external and internal parties
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer and consumer behavior trends, able to generate creative ideas and be familiar with specialized marketing concepts and tactics
  • Experience with social media and graphic design tools considered an asset
